Sierra Health Foundation creates The Center to leverage Foundation investments, infrastructure, staff and relationships for deeper investment in underinvested regions, issue areas and community nonprofits. The Center funds grassroots nonprofit organizations and manages public-private partnerships to transform the distribution of public and philanthropic dollars in pursuit of health and racial equity systems change throughout California’s 58 counties. The Center’s model has enabled thousands of community nonprofits to access new funding opportunities through programs like Elevate Youth California, California Overdose Prevention and Harm Reduction Initiative, Stop the Hate and Transform Youth Justice, which extend and expand the Foundation’s long-standing priorities, including youth opportunity, community leadership and health and racial equity.
